Power Steering

Did the cars used in the road show have power steering?

Some did, some didn't. I believe all of the cabriolets had power steering, but maybe not all of the coupes.

The Passions and Cabs all had Power steering. The pures, not.

Not so. I personally drove a Passion without the power steering. I do not recall any Pures in the road shows.

I've driven a non-power steering cab in Venice. I actually had to ask if it was power or not. The smart rep said he's driven both, and they are equally easy to turn the wheel when the car is stopped, like when parking.

Because the car is so light - you can turn the wheels easily in park even without power steering.

I wish they would take the power steering option out of the comfort package - as I, as a buyer, would love to have leather + heated seats, but don't really need the power steering option.

Power steering is a waste in this car, there is no heavy engine sitting over the front wheels, actually no heavy engine at all. lol

But you do not have a choice if you DO want the leather seats.

True, I prefer to not have it even if if means not getting leather. Power steering pumps as well as AC suck power from the engine, which it does not have power to spare as it is. I however cant live without AC here especially since I want an all black Smart.
