Another is sold by Wal-Mart and made by Simonize. Another is called Slime, but on the packaging of Slime, it advises against going over 55 miles per hour due to possible vibration. Ultraseal does not have that problem.
Never used ultra seal but slime is popular with M/C & ATV crowd. Probably similar to the stuff that comes with the car. Car tires at highway speeds generate a lot of heat and it tends to cook tire sealant.

As as aside....

I have been out on a road trip the last 3 weeks and haven't posted any useless gibberish lately so this should help bring my score back up....

Whilst going to load our Cabrio into the back of our motorcoach, which has a garage in the back, my keen eyes noted the TPM warning lit up. Sure enough the right rear was soft but not flat, yet... HUGE nail in the center of the tread area and a slow leak. No time to pull the wheel and have the tire repaired at a shop.

I used the "mushroom" type rubber plug that I've carried on motorcycles to repair a tubeless tire. Worked easily and quickly. No more leak. I did NOT remove the tire from the wheel but I DID remove the wheel since I was at home in the garage with a floor jack and out of the rain.

No problemo. I THINK I could have done it with the wheel on the car.

We were down near Nashville and then in Arkansas doin some honkytonkin and fishin. We did about a thousand miles driving the Cabrio all over the place and didn't have any more issues with the tire leaking.

I'm glad I had the repair kit in the car. I also am glad I noted the TPM warning cuz it would have been more of a PITA out on the road I'm thinkin...

FYI

I used UltraSeal in my smart tires for two years until I found less expensive, US-made RIDE-ON which I now use in all my vehicles.

How many bottles does it take to do the 4 smart tires? (I realize there is a chart, but easier to know right away from you how many to order, rather than writing down my tire sizes and figuring it up right now). Thanks!

No word from the OP in more than two months. Hope the Ultraseal didn't destroy his car.

Ride-On vs Ultraseal: Reading the description, they sound like very similar products. Ultraseal's smallest container seems to be one gallon for 57.50, and that should be enough to do eight tires.

Ride-On is available in convenient 16 Ounce cans (bottles) each sufficient for one tire. A kit of four bottles costs 54.99.

Shipping not included: Looks like Ultraseal is about half the price per tire, and would be more economical, IF you've got a couple vehicles you want to treat.

A one vehicle person, like myself, would be better off with the Ride-On, assuming equivalent products. And, they appear to be.

I emailed Gempler’s Technical Services Ultraseal Tire Sealant -- GEMPLER'S with the burning question about Ultraseal and the TPMS ... their reply ...
Thanks for your inquiry. Ultraseal cannot be used in vehicles with tire pressure monitoring systems. If you have other questions, please let me know.
Sooooż
Why haven't we heard from the OP since July 27th? Maybe his long term experience was not good.
Now, about Ride-On ... hmmm. Maybe I'll email someone in authority with that product now.

Having worked on wheels and tires with similar sealants I can say its messy to deal with later.
You have to remove it from the tire to put a proper patch on and it gets into the rim bead and also has to be removed.
Some of these products get hard and sticky and can take quite some time to scrape and clean off.

Ride-On says they are TPMS compatible, although they recommend removing the stuff before you have a tire serviced by the dealer or TPMS seller:

Ride-On® | Tire Protection System :: Ride-On TPS Tire Sealants and Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS)

Just perhaps, Gempler's is being more responsible than Ride-On? Or at least, more interested in CYA. From the link provided,
Quote:
all TPMS manufacturers have a policy in regards to foreign substances that are injected inside of tires with TPMS valve sensors installed. For the most part, these policies state that the use of any foreign substances inside of a tire with TPMS valve systems installed, or the use of any foreign substances which have been injected via the valve stem into the tire; will void their TPMS warranties.
Quote:
should a TPMS sensor fail, we recommend that you remove the product from the tire prior to taking it in for servicing.
I think it likely that Ultraseal is just as TPMS safe as Ride-On. But, in either case, their use would likely void your TPMS warranty.
