Purple Smart

I am staying at Embassy Suites in Laredo, Texas and we noticed a purple smart in the parking lot. It has Mexican license plates and it appears smaller than the Smarts here in the U.S. We did not drive our down so it is hard to compare. It also appears to only be a manaul shift as that is what is indicated on the stick shift. Dash is also different than ours. I have a couple pictures below.

The one in the picture is a model 450 rather than the Newer Model 451 sold in the US.

I thought it was probably a 450 but was not sure.

Quick ways to tell.
Diff Tail lights and those extra rear windows on the side in the rear and the door handles are vertical on the 450 rather than horizontal on the 451.

And no keyhole on the drivers door.

I LIKE the fortwo label on the left side of the tailgate!

I'd put that on my car. Stock on a 450?

Also, the 450 has the gas cap on the driver's side and 3 tail lights to the 451's two!

That's not the gas cap on the left side (There are not as many differences between the 450 &451 as you might think) That's the air intake, as is the 451. the gas door is on the right side, as is the 451.

that is not the tridion going all the way to the rear, The light assembly is a plastic panel, look for the vertical line in the silver.

Only the coupe has three taillights, the cabrio has two, as 451.

The fortwo on the left side of the tailgate is standard. Mine also has "Turbo" on the right side of the tailgate.

The keyhole is on the tailgate instead of the driver's door, as the 451.
