Before I did the final configuration for my smart, I told myself I could always get the panels painted purple. Will never happen now with a red interior...

This car was a custom paint job at Laguna Niguel.

Why not? You can order blue with red interior. Purple and red isn't all that weird.

The color is "Ruby red," a stock color from 2005 or 2006. I thought I was "unique" with my "Merlot red" on my 2008 fortwo, a color I usurped from my Z4 convertible. When I went to a Smart gathering in eastern Washington with a bunch of 450s in the mix I was surprised by the hue of another participant's Smart; the color match was close! The "Ruby red" is more red, the "Merlot red" is more purple, but the "more" is subtle.

If that's an orphan it's the FIRST one I've seen at Laguna Niguel! I've stopped by while driving up to Santa Barbara and I've never seen an orphan before.
