Q: Why Does It Take 2 Hours to Wash...

a Smart Car?

A: Because everyone in the neighborhood wants to come over and ask all kinds of question, sit in it, then ask more question. I've met a lot of new best friends recently...

Right you are! I stopped to vacuum mine out and 3 kids in a pickup couldn't stop chattering about it. In the end I was able to put in the 75 cents, vacuum, and flip the switch for them to use the same 75 cents to fill a leaky tire.

On Tuesday nights after work, I take my smartie to a $5 hand wash car wash place and I am bombarded by men who have tons of smart questions. They all speak to me despite having a big ole SUV or sports car and everything in between. Generally, they are all happily surprised and curious about my lil guy. They pine away at it like young men wanting to a date the prettiest girl in town but they haven't a clue on how to dump their old war horse of a girlfriend (also known as their current gas guzzler). I'm having a ball just hearing their never ending praise at my forethought of purchasing the right car at the right time.

Thank God when i get MY smart i'll be washing it in my own driveway! of course that won't keep the neighbors from coming around and asking about it, but they're most real old people, over 50, so i doubt they would be interested unless it's a new Buick or Caddy......

Washing your smart in your driveway is no guarentee you wont get gawkers. I was washing our two smarts in the driveway Sat. morning and still had two people drive up and ask questions. The neighbors don't ask much any more but lots of strangers still do. Still managed to get both spiffy in less than an hour.

Do you need to use a special wash mitt for the plastic or roof panel?
Special detergent?
Or wil my regular car washing stuff work just fine?
