Question about Orphans

So when I go to sign up for the orphan, I tell them what I want and what I don't want on the car and they'll tell me when they have one in?

Or is it different than that?

P.S. I do know of possible Down Payments.

I've found that if you are not too particular you have more choices. If you are open to color and model but have specific wants for bells and whistles, that works. If you want a specific color and are open to the model and bells, etc.; that works. If you want a specific color model and options, wait for your reservation. The more flexibility you have the easier it is to pair you with a car. Keep contact with the sale rep you are dealing with and be patient.

I'd say different.

You get on an orphan list and maybe give preferences. The more preferences the less your chances or at least the longer your wait. Color? Remember you can always get other panels or switch with someone else later. I'd probably still be waiting had I not happen to visit the dealership that fateful day in April.

I don't care about the colors, just the model & equipment. Passions are more popular where I live at.

I will order up for an Orphan around April - May 09', just in time for my license and to have a nice down payment.

As I hear, it takes 3 hours to build a Smart car at Smartville.

Some dealers charge some don't some do not even have an orphan list but sell them as they come in stock to people who visit the showroom.Best way is go to local dealer and ask.

just be very vague with your specifications... say you want Passion in any color with any feature set and you're all good.

Tridion color doesn't really matter right?
Color panels can be swapped later if the color really bothers you.
Extra Guage Pods can be added on later.
Radio 9 can (nay..SHOULD) be replaced with an aftermarket unit.
Perhaps specify if you want heated seats...or the leather package if you care either way. I would imagine most would come with heat, even the cloth ones.
