I placed a reservation several months ago and very recently was called to advise that there was a pending email to configure my order. I have replied to the request and received a confirmation that the configuration was received telling me that I will be contacted about receiving the car in the first half of this year.
What is the typical time lag between receiving this confirmation and delivery of the car?
Will the dealer that is geographically closest to my home address be assigned as the dealer who will deliver the car?
Will the price of the car be the MSRP as per the confirmation? Are the dealers attempting to sell the cars above this number? Is the manufacturer involved in the final pricing of the cars?
How do I find out what my "number" is in regard to receiving this car?
i reserved my car on the first day 3/19. i configured on 9/1 and my car will be here next week. that seems to be the pattern.
the custom ordered cars are said to be held at MSRP with NO dealer markup. hopefully this will be policed by Penske as we know some dealers will certainly try it.

as for your number? nobody really knows. they seem to only have the info for the very first orders of last march available at the moment.
If this program had been up and running for say a year I think that someone that configured on 9/1 would already have their car. I think as we go forward and the pipeline is as smooth as it is going to get the confirmation configuration to delivery will be 2 to 2.5 months.
Markie, where are you located, it seems you may be moving faster than others but some of it has to do with the dealer allocations. Dealers in areas with fewer orders are moving through the list faster than dealers with 1,000's of reservations.
