Questions!! PLEASE HELP!! (DDE)

Okay so I reserved my Smart ForTwo Passion this past July 21st. My reservation # is 0495811663.

I was wondering about when if anyone has any idea when I should recieve my Smart?

The DDE wont work, it must be too far in the future. But thats not my only question...

I also have not done my final configuration yet. I will eventually be configuring for a 2009 Model event though I reserved in 2008, I know that. But what I dont know is if I configure for a 2009 Model, and my Smart still doesn't arrive until AFTER the 2010 Model comes out, do I get to RE-CONFIGURE for a 2010 Model?

you won't get a 2010 if your like most peoplel you will wait 12 to 15 months total from paying your 99 dollars to picking up you car so I wouldn't worry about that part

my car is an O8 and I still haven't taken delivery of it! (2 weeks left!)

I would plan on getting it around the same time you reserved the following year and if your on the east coast maybe a little sooner.

I reserved the end of August - configured a 2009 on Sept 9 and my DDE is Jan - Mar 09 (it started at Apr - Jun 09). I'm in Connecticut. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. My dealer says the first 09s will be in in Nov and they seem to be coming in faster and faster.

John17 - Why doesn't the DDE work? Did you reserve online or at the dealership? My DDE popped up about two weeks after my reservation.

It depends on your area, duderunner. I didnt have a DDE until 2 weeks ago and I reserved in Feb. Now its gone again.

I didn't get a DDE until about 7 months after I placed my reservation. According to the one I have now I'll receive the car 8-10 months after I reserved.

I reserved July 12, 2008 and my DDE date just popped up - July - Sept. '09 and it's still holding. However, I have not configured yet -- I also live in Los Angeles so my wait time for delivery may turn out to be longer than yours.

Alright thanks everyone! I live in Minnesota and there is only 1 dealer around my area in Bloomington, MN so it will probably take longer to get my car then places on the East and West coasts where there are multiple dealerships.
And I Reserved online.

I reserved mid July and I have not heard anything about confiuring or DDE. Still comes up with no answer. But I cheted and got a used one (14 miles on it) to hold me over. I figured my order might not arrive until 2010. By then I will be ready for a replacement car (?)

I ordered mine at the Bloomington dealership and placed my name on the Orphan list. no word on either one.

I reserved July 12th, and the DDE was not available until October 3rd (83 days). That was sooner than I expected. The DDE says Oct - Dec 2009 (446-537 days).
Unless the window slides significantly toward the present, I expect I'm looking at a 2010 model ... which is what I want.
OR, do I need to wait a few more months and plop down another deposit in order to make a 2010 realistic?
