Ryan,

DTH system here, exit on stage right :P Center exit will have to wait a while. Atleast until I get my S-Mann kit all painted and installed.

HELP!!!!

I am installing mine, and I have never installed anything more complicated than a light bulb. HOW DO I GET THE old exhaust out of the rubber hangers. There are knobs on the other side that are bigger than the holes!!! HELP!!!

Spray the holes with WD40 and then pry the muffler hangers out with a pair of channel lock pliars.

Yes like Mprice said

I sprayed WD-40 or use a equivilent near the knobs and use a flat head screwer to move the hanger off.
* Caution * don't have your legs under muffler when taking the first one off as I did, that stock muffler is heavy!! and it will leave knobs.
I suggest tie it up with piece of wire or something.

Spray both donuts with silicone spray. Lay on the garage floor and push the donut off (away from you) with your sneakered foot, holding the factory exhaust while pulling it towards you slightly. Works like a charm!

Thanks MPRICE,

Are the muffler hangers that I pry the rubber parts or the metal knob on the outside?
Does the metal knob come off, or does it have to be pulled through?

smartde and rollingtones,

The donut??? is that the metal thing that is too big to go through the hole?
SO.....I guess I have to change out of my flip flops???? AND if it is that little tiny metal thing, how did you get your foot to not slip off of it?

yeah, it would have been nice for the directions to tell you about this, just use lots of wd40 on the rubber and pull it through, it may seem like it is impossible to get it through but it will, if you need to pry it with a flathead screw driver, it will come out..this was the reason i started this thread back when i installed mine..

I think, he meant donut is the hanger

lol, yes no flip flops! and tie it up if you are alone, and keep the legs from under it.
After spray it will eventually slide or as I said "pop" off.
I used a screw driver through the hanger as a lever and pushed and it slid right off. Channel lock pliers I did not think of at the time, would seem to work well.

goodluck
