I'm enjoying mine and really like its personality. I can literally drive rings around my friends' cars and parking is a blast.

I'll admit it. I'm beeitchin. I'm anxious and impatient. I've done my homework, research, test drives and all that jazz. Now I just want my configuration email. Then at least I will know there's sunlight on the horizon.

Hehehe... Well, I haven't been complaining (except about the radio), since I don't have one yet and won't have one for a year, if I get one at all. I'm as tired as the next person about the premium gas complaints in a forum where almost 80% claim they make $60K or more a year and over 50% claim they make $100K or more per year. However, there's a difference between complaining and pointing out problems people are seeing with the car. I'm sure those who aren't committed 100% would like to read about the issues people are having before we decide to go through with the purchase.

Also, I've noticed quite a few people in this forum defend the smart no matter what. Half of the delivered smarts could have their engines fall out on the freeway and some people would say it's a minor issue, stop complaining, and I love my smart no matter what or I'm taking delivery anyway. It's just a car.

I agree It's just a car, a specialty car for people who want something different. I own one. I have been trying to find something to complain about so I can make a worthwhile contribution to to this thread. OK here it is....I wish complete strangers would stop staring at me. There you go.

Good post. Everyone needs a reality check. I've only driven the car once just last month even though I reserved in November. Its hard to not drop by the dealership and hound them for information constantly. I guess I'm OK with waiting because each month that goes by puts more money in the kitty for the purchase.

Hmmmm... Th steering wheel is not adjustable... Since I am short, I hope I can fit my fat thighs underneath the steering wheel... Is the height adjustable on the seat. Darn I drove one in Germany 2 1/2 years ago and I dont remember much - what I remember is being much skinnier than what I am today lol.

Awesome post you started my friend!

Kwagar, I totally agree with your sentiment and words of wisdom. Now that I am a true smart owner (going on a week), I LOVE IT!! It is a different life style of transportation and it meets all my needs. I'm pimping her out and in time will be sporting a true fire red/black smartie. Who knows, I may even sell my blue panels because it really isn't the color for me. Thanks again for this thread of wisdom. Regina (Beep! Beep!)

You will be fine. My wife and I both drive it just fine and we are much larger than you. LOL! Go test one!
