It is about honor! The seller violated his word to the potential buyer. In addition, he was inconsiderate in not responding when he 'changed his mind'.
Ethics, honor, integrity - call it what you will, they seem to be in short supply. Agree with Angel and RV, the seller made an offer, the buyer agreed to take the car at that price, and the seller has sinced reneged. Bad business, IMHO. Even worse if the seller was/is a member of this forum.

Reason: spelling
I agree with those who say it is about integrity. You ARE your word -- if you behave in one area of life as if your word means nothing, then you likely behave that way in other areas as well, and probably wonder why you always get the sucky jobs, or why you can't keep a good relationship.
We are nothing without our integrity. It's a sad state that some on here see nothing wrong with how this person behaved. Just think how much better things would be if all our politicians behaved as if their word meant EVERYTHING.
Like I tell a lot of my clients, being an a-hole is not a crime.... if it were half the world would be in jail. ;)
Like I said in my original post...change your mind - but don't keep stringing me along with the promise that you'll sell it to me for the agreed upon price as soon as you receive the title. I could have purchased two others I found nearby for slightly more money - but I felt I needed to uphold my end of the deal. Lesson learned.
Angel, RVGRINGO, jwight, JanetMermaid, m3456y Amen, amen, amen, amen and amen! rawusA and egwalker, blame the parents if it makes you feel better but raising your children well is no guarantee that they will choose to be the responsable adults you hope they will be, also many children raised by irresponsible parents have become great young men and women. Go figure. guess that's part of making your own deciscions, right or wrong. In this case clearly wrong.
Sadly, “car deal” cannot be used in the same sentence as moral compass, values, ethics, honor or integrity.
Since we only have the scorned buyer side of this story what about the seller? If he would enter this conversation we could really drum up some commentary about society and the world in which we live.
Gotta go, cabrio top down smiling all the way back home!
