One word - KARMA! (or should I say in this case - Carma ) The people will eventually get theirs later on at a different time. Not a way to live.

Hey, *I* didn't blame the parents. Although we are certainly a product of our upbringing, how we behave as adults is totally our own responsibility. I have no patience for those who try to blame someone or something else for their behavior.

Go figure. guess that's part of making your own deciscions, right or wrong. In this case clearly wrong.

Wow!, but then again, I waited 2,325 days for mine. I first saw one in Italy on Sept 12, 2001 and had been wanting one ever since.

I put my reservation in on the 2nd day after they opened up in March of '07 and picked the beast up on Jan 24th of this year. They called me on the 19th that the car was ready for pickup, but it took me a few days to get it sorted out.

Shop early - avoid the rush

JanetMermaid, sorry if my post wasn't clear I had agreed with your post as well as Angel, RVGRINGO, jwight, and m3456y, thus the amens. Did not agree with rawusA and egwalker blaming the parents. Certainly our parents influence us but as you pointed out our behavior as adults is our own responibility. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Why not send said person an email with the link for autotrader and this topic? Just because they're a member here doesn't mean they read all the threads. And that way if they feel so inclined they can give their side/version of the story.

Fair enough!

As for the original subject of this thread, I think the person who pulled the bait and switch is downright scum. There's no excuse. Even if you priced something lower than you could have, it is inappropriate to raise it after an agreement has been reached.

Reminds me of an old Bill Cosby routine about a kid in shop class putting a bullet in the furnace. Nobody fesses up, so the teacher starts talking bad about the parents. "You know, a kid's gotta have really lousy parents to teach him to put a bullet in the furnace, etc." Finally, the kid jumps up and says........"I didn't put the bullet in the furnace, but quit talking about my parents!!" :>)

He finally responded to my last email yesterday. His Autotrader ad has a note telling people they can be next in line if the deal falls through. His response - and mine:

Sorry I hate to tell you that the car is no longer available. There are still a few available in AutoTrader for a bit more. This car is so high demand that it is going for 20k.

Yeah, saw your Autotrader ad today. I just wished you would have been upfront about the car. I could have bought one in Sarasota for $18,000 two weeks ago, but I was commited to yours. Lesson learned.
