Smart Center Devon, PA has left me somewhat confused.
The lower passenger side body panel fell off while I was driving one day. I didn't notice until returning home. I'm guessing it came of when I drove through a puddle, although I've since returned to where the puddle was, and don't see the part.
I contacted Smart Center Devon, and got the following reply:

"We can definately get you a panel and the issue is just when we could have it verses if we can get it."

I figured, okay, they can definitely get the part. Then on August 7:

"bring the car down anytime before 5pm...thanks it!"

Cool, they must have gotten the part. I sent my son up to Devon (I live in Delaware) to take care of it, and he returned sans part, and explained that they wanted to figure out whether it qualified for warranty repair.
Now, I can't think of too many reasons why they waited a week before even wanting to *look* at the car, since on July 28 they could "definitely" get the part.

"I was just told to ask you to stop by just to have us analyze the missing part, so we could determine how it may have fell off, ect."

Ummmm.... okay... but that's the last I've heard from them. No word on if/when they intend to replace the part.
If it takes them a week before they can even look at a car with a problem, I shudder to think what would happen if this were a major mechanical malfunction.
My question is whether, while still waiting for this part, there are any other dealers to whom I should consider taking the car if something major goes wrong, or am I married to these uncommunicative ding-dongs for life?
