I thought it might be fun to share the notes we get from others who have checked out our Smarts when we weren't there. I already posted the "parking ticket" I got from the parking police in Cleveland (Smart Ticket -Parking was the subject line I believe). Here's another note I got last night "from a higher authority."

A Bit off topic but maybe it will revise this thread

We got a parking ticket the other day (my wife was delayed in a meeting) so we got a little note under the wiper

It has the plate # state exp and all that. but here is where it gets strange

Make = MERZ
Model = SMART
Body Style = 2D
Color = YEL

I thought it was Registered as Black, and no where does it say Merc on the car.
So either the registration pulls up everything but color, or I have a smarter than advarage meater maid who knows who's DNA is in the smart

I'd interpret the MERZ as Mercedes, not Mercury, so I'd say that meter maid was pretty sharp !!

Mercury doesn't have a 'Z' in it, so yeah Mercedes would be my guess too.

That note is heart-warming but kinda creepy too, but mostly cute. Some granola female (looks like female writing) <3's you.

Change your body panel color and then contest the ticket.

I have one registration/title that reads the car as being a Smart (yes with a capitol S) while the other is titled as a Mercedes......so I put a Mercedes emblem on that car. I know, I know....it's as bad as spelling Smart with the capitol "S".

Cars are titled as black and silver.

I ran across this old thread when looking for info on wiper adjustment, and thought I'd share my story.

My wife and I were just finishing dessert at a sidewalk table in a restaurant in Sarasota... celebrating our new addition to the family (the smart). With the car being parked not far away, I noticed an older gentleman circling the car several times... looking at it from all angles, looking in the windows... and then from his pocket he pulled out a US flag... one of those that clips onto your car window, and put it under my wiper and then walked away.
