Just a thought, but you may want to discuss some sort of warranty extension for the repairs/repaint they're doing. Even though you've only had the car a month or so, these repairs will not be covered after the 24 month/24K miles point UNLESS you have an extended warranty. Just my .02.

Aren't they offering the option of a replacement vehicle? If not, they should be!!!

How did you find out your car was recalled, and where can we check to see if ours has this problem? I just bought an orphan from the Tysons Center dealer.

Or get it in writing that the paint warranty is not affected. I had this trouble once on a Dodge Stratus, the dealer had to fix the nose due to incorrect unloading, I made them put it on the repair order that the paint warranty would not be affected. 1 year later, it started to peal, after some bickering, Chrysler told them to fix it at no charge because I had it writing.

all the recalled vehicles have been accounted for - it amounted to about a half-day's production worth - hardly any vehicles as far as recalls go.

Smart USA telephoned me at home in late July and told me that mine was one of 43 cars sold in the U.S. that had defective paint jobs on their Tridion Cells. You have nothing to worry about if your Tridion Cell is not silver. In addition, the Smart Centers that had, have, or sold these cars know as well.

YEAH!

My salesman telephoned yesterday afternoon to report that they have my car back from the body shop and that it's being reassembled. He thinks we should have our Passion Cabriolet back (in our hands) by this weekend. He also said that he was going to secure an orphan that matched our configuration in case we were not satisfied with repaint and/or reassembly of our car. More to follow...

I am actually very impressed that they actively contacted all of the affected owners. It's often up to the owners to realize there has been a recall.

congratulations Lisa & Leslie

I really apologize you had to face such inquirie.
It was already a drama for us to have to recall cars, how can you imagine that we will not do our best to contact customer and arrange all we can ?

It is linked to our way-of-work fast way-of-life.
