Thinking about this a little more:
By rough estimate the 31,000 smart cars on the road have gone about 246 million miles, assuming an average of 1,000 miles per month.
Using the current NHST statistics (
FARS Encyclopedia) of 1.36 deaths per 100 million miles would show that our community would have lost 3.35 drivers/ passengers by now.
It seems like we are doing better than average.
