Recyclable smarts

When a smart reaches end of life, how does it get recycled? I mean, the wrecker hauls it to the junk yard, the insurance pays off the owner, but who is responsible for making sure 90% of the smart gets recycled and doesn't go to the landfill?

Exactly!

But in the EU, smarts are recycled into more smarts and the 2% that cannot be recycled finds a place somewhere else where it might find use.

Who's in charge?

In the EU I think your smart just gets sent back to smart at the end of its life rather than to the junkyard.

I suspect that fairies carry it to its destination as part of the Mystic Parts Dismantling and Recycling Program (MPDRP, for short)

Thanks, Old smart. I was kind of thinking that it was something like that. So, unless the owner is proactive and searches out how to do the recycle, it's just like any other wreck.
