I told him I still wasn't jazzed about the red interior. He said that the red would be a "collector's item" as if that would up the re-sale value.
Sound off...what do you think?
wonder how he figures that? If he meant the exterior red, I'd say yes, maybe. But the red interior is still be offered in '09, and looks unchanged to me from '08.
smart is also freshening up its palette with striking new colors. The elegantly pleasing "grey metallic" and the sporty intensive "rally red" are new in the portfolio. [...]

[...] Further new equipment details include net pockets in the doors on the driver and passenger side which offer greater storage space. "
I wish they would do a red leather interior instead of just the black. I love the look of the red interior and the red bezels on the instruments but wish it came with leather!
You should see the special black/silver/black-red-grey cabrio that scAlexandria has in its showroom: the red interior has been customized with black leather seats, with red stitching and grey suede inlays. Stunning! (And expensive!)
Next time I go there, and if it's still on the floor, I'll take pix.
On my second car,a 1976 Vega GT, the interior was- black seats with red piping, door panels to match and red carpets. Looked really nice, to bad it was a Vega!
AWESOME! I'd be as little scared of that suede in a cabrio unless it's that microsuede stuff and I've had bad luck on that "unstainable" stuff on my house furniture. I think red leather inserts would of been supercool with that cabrio!
That's so cool JPaul! Thanks for taking the pix!
We were in Italy last summer and checked out every Smart car we saw - they all had different, funky interiors (colors like lime green, purple and apricot; all in different patterns) and I don't think I saw any two alike. It would be nice if Smart applied some of that 'funkiness' to the USA-bound Smarts.
