i had a question about the red smart car
i heard that people say at times it looks orangish.
is this true?

Yes, the 2008 red colored Smartie had that Orangish look. 2009 models have a different red that looks more "red".

Just what neon said. However - in the evening as the sun is going down it look looks like a true red - same goes for cloudy days. You don't know how many times I hear, "Is that your ORANGE Smart car out there?"

Just to satisfy them I'll be painting my red Smart metallic orange complete with a logo on the back saying "L'Orange Edition" (remember it is made in France)

Pardon me, but in French it'll be: "L'édition orange"...

I have a red and silver. The silver tridion "brightens" the red and the black tones it down IMHO.I hope the new red isn't the red Merc uses.

Perhaps the orange color makes the Fortwo more 'a-peal-ling'? I once saw a specialy made vehicle (two of them) that was made to look like an orange with the orange color scheme and an orange peel texture. It was weird and neat looking. I like the 'L'Orange Edition' label.

Have you thought about giving it Jack-o-lantern eyes and smile? It would be spookacular.

Here's a pic of a Real Red smart. In the background is the 2008 "tomato soup red" Which I love, btw.
