Just an update on my smartie life!
My smart add-ons are still flowing in from across the pond. I just received my armrest, mudflaps and a two piece smart luggage set for travels yet to be planned. It really does feel like Xmas!!
Anyway, I went to smart center Edison yesterday and said hello to my smartie and Danny Wong. While there I met Smart Center Manager Doug and said hello to Leigh (Sales Manager) and another sales coordinator who I think is also named Doug. Edison also hired it's new smart Receptionist. I didn't catch her name but she was a very cute brunette with tons of charm and sweetness. She was so attentive to me and very gracious in performing her job. Edison made out well by hiring her. These folks really feel like my smart center family and each time I stop by they make me feel good that I came in.
While there, a white/black coupe was being delivered to a woman (who was with her BF or husband) and she seemed very happy. Also there were several people checking out the smarts. I think there were 12-14 smarts on the showroom floor! This one hip man came in with his son who appeared to be around 15YO. They were so very interested and impressed by the smart. They got in the red/silver cabrio with red interior and were just beeming with smiles. I gave them some cool stats and information on the smart. The father asked his son did he like the car and the kid said, "Yeah...it's so cool looking and I love all the colors!" The father replied, "Yeah they are cool. I could just put one on my credit card right now!!"
Regarding the delivery, I let Danny know that I will be passing on the Extended Warranty and going with a third party provider. In addition, I told him I wanted the Wheel & Tire Plan for $275 (3Yrs). But after reading the pricing sheet which included the Vehicle Eligibility stipulations, I might not buy it. In the fine print it says "Vehicles with tires and/or wheels that do not meet the manufacturer's recommendation specific to the customer's vehicle are not eligible for coverage." So, does this mean that I can't put 16' Brabus rims & wheels on my smartie? In fact, the Parts Manager is in the process of getting the Brabus products so they can offer these options. I'll have to find out tomorrow if by installing the upgraded wheel/rims through their dealership will it void this add-on warranty. More to come on this issue.
Anyway, my out-the-door price is now hovering just over $19,000 for my cabrio which suits me just fine. Here's hoping my next post will be on the delivery of my smartie.
Thanks,
Regina
