We have "Release Numbers" for each of the Mercedes engine converted smarts. The numbers were generated from the dates of the DOT releases on all of those converted vehicles. Though we can't make the list public (legitimate VIN# information, published in mass, could provide information for illegitimate car "sales"). However, if anyone owns one of the 1026 converted smarts on this forum, send me a message and I'll tell you what your car's release number was, according to the list we've generated. Though we are going to be selling a product with this information engraved on it, it seemed like this Release Number information would be of interest to any of the existing US smart car owners. Just ask and you shall receive. Again, this list is not based upon the date the car was sold, only the date that the DOT granted their approval. Multiple approvals on the same day were done in numerical order of the VINs.
