Replacement Wiper Blades

Well we have had quite a few snowstorms here in upstate NY. I choose not to put on snow tires and have found traction not to be a problem, oh the moment the car wants to slide, the computer takes over and traction control sets us straight. So as for in the Snow, this little car is a dream TO A POINT! That is why I named this thread, “Wiper blades” I found two weakness with this car, first the traction control works to the point where it slows the car so slow it gets dangerous going up icy hills. We need a shut off switch to disengage the traction control to get out of situations. Like after it snowed a foot, the only way I could get the car moving from the church parking lot was to go find a shovel and dig a patch to the street. The traction control would NOT allow any power to get to the wheels.
The second things is the wiper blades, mine already need replacing and I am wondering if anyone knows of a replacements other than going back to the dealers? The windshield freezes right where they sit and the defroster just will not keep that area from freezing. I know the stock wipers are already going bad and I am hoping we can get winter blades that fit on our smarts from an auto parts store.
I am very happy with the Smart in the snow, with the exception of those two areas. I am sure I am not the only one to experience this am I?

However, you still need to go to the dealer for the rear blade.... 11" blade is impossible to find and the mount for it is only made for the car.... unless someone else has more information...

I don't think so. I have taken out the "blade" its super easy as it slides out. All you need to get is a $8 long blade if it is the same style, slide it in and cut it to length so it fits in the holder.

The trick is that one would need snips strong enough to cut through the two small steel supports within the blade.

Just purchased some rainex wiper blades, sizes 21 and 22, based on the rainex suggestions for the smart. None of the connections work.

I replaced my wipers this summer, got them from the dealership. Every where I went, they wanted $20 each for aftermarket blades, The dealership wanted $42, for a pair. Might as well get ones that were designed for the car instead of having to use some gaudy adapter.
