Reserved in '08, Receiving in '09 or '10?

Hey I got a question for anyone who know's the answer to it!

I will try to make this as simple as possible, it might get a little confusing!

Okay, so I reserved my Smart ForTwo Passion this past July.
I haven't configured yet and was wondering if i dont get to configure until after the 2009 models have come out, do i get to configure for the 2009 model even though i reserved in 2008?

And if i configure before 2009 models come out, do i get to re-configure when they do come out so i can order the new colors or options if i choose to?

And lastly, if it takes this long, do i get to re-configure AGAIN if i am still waiting to receive my Smart when the 2010 models come out?

I was told by some people it could take 1 1/2 to 2 years to get my Smart! Thats alright with me, its worth the wait! It's because i live in Minnnesota and there is only 1 dealership around!

They are now configuring for the '09 models. My wife reserved hers about the same time and expected delivery is near September/October 2009. would be possible to be configuring for a '10 model I think.

So basically, as the new models come out and you haven't recieved yours yet.. you get to re-configure for the new ones! Got it thanks!

If you configured already, (before aug 25) you are getting an 08. They said they in a statement. But if you configure after aug 25, then you get an 09.

Reserved July 26 2007. Not configured yet. I guess if I am lucky I will be configuring a 2009 model.

Yes, that is true but I configured before august 25 but then a couple of days ago I was asked to re-configure. So I assume that I will get an 09. toxdan

It is a mystery now. Well for one I assume if there was an EV Smart, the cost would be 5-10K higher easily.

I wonder what changes will come on 2010?

I reserved early Dec. 2007, configured on the 25th of this month and then had to re-configure today due to a computer glitch~Smart's, not mine~and I'm getting a 2009 model which is due for delivery between Nov.~Jan.
