Road trip in my Smart.......

Took a 3 day trip in my Smart. Kept to older back roads....which take longer but a lot more fun....and better trip in my Smart. Stopped when I wanted and had a general good time. Here I am at falls near Gauly off US60 in the New River Gorge West Virginia.

Great road for a senic trip!

Just traveled 1300 miles in two days in my bumble bee. It sure was fun. Some even video taped me while I was driving. I figure I'll be on youtube soon.

Nothing more fun than pulling over at a site like that, opening up the tailgate, lifting out the picknic basket and having a snack.

I'm still trying to figure out how to get around the "Open Container" law here in California. The smart has no actual trunk area that is not accessible by the occupants. Hard to have a glass of wine and put the bottle back in the cooler for later... know what I mean?

what if you had the trailer hitch and put a small cooler on it or use the tow bolts, like the bike racks. its not accessable to the occupants.?

I'm really going to have to take the Smart next time we go to Sequoia National Park. That's exactly the kind of scenic photo opp I'd like to do with my car...

To comply with the open container law: Place your booze in a locked briefcase or cooler and put the key inside the gasoline fill port, attached to the little door. That way, the locked container won't be available to the occupants while the car is in use.
