Garage
And maybe for max speed in each gear? Don't know if that's in the owners manual or not. Once we get the info this could be moved to the FAQs.

I don't think the list I did had speeds

Gear ratios:
1st (3.308)
2nd (1.913)
3rd (1.258)
4th (0.943)
5th (0.707)
Reverse (3.231)
Final drive (4.529)

I hate the search functions of vb boards and google keeps returning links that I am not logged on for and I get a wanring that I can not see the page due to lack of permissions... argggh!

It was more than the ratios; it included tire diameter or circumference in the calculations. There was a hyperlink to a calculator in the post. But with just the above ratios and the tire circumference it can be worked out.

Here's one: http://www.car-videos.net/tools/speedrpm.asp

Fredv your list didn't include speeds. What I was wondering is what rpms I will be turning in various gears, am specifically interested in 60 and 70 as they are the cruising speeds on the freeways around here

Still can't find the post but never mind... the calculator fishrdnc used is virtually the same as the one I used and IIRC about the same results

Don's numbers are with the six speed and I assume stock diameter tires... so within 500rpm of what we are calculating..

some real world posts with the 451s rpm per gear at what speed would help

but for a good ball park the current info is good...

cruising at 70MPG should be in the 3250~3500 range

The brits are reporting that this motor is less buzzy at that rpm then the Gen 2 MCC motor

BTW our versios may or may NOT have the counter ballance shaft **- some versions (Turbo?) are reported to have it...not too sure what the reality is here ...still a lot to learn about this power package

I did find out that a factory fresh replacment motor is $8000 from my parts guy... sounds like buying a PURE is a better deal...hummm I knew a motor would be pricey (was looking into a spare to snuff to preserve the original motor and numbers)
