Run in with 16yr old punks

Was heading home about an hour ago from some friends in Eden Prairie(MN) and ran into some highschool aged brats in dad`s Audi A8. I was at a stop light and they pulled up next to me and said something, don`t know what, I rolled down my window and asked what they wanted and all I got was a "hey" from the kid in the passenger side of the car, I said ok hey and that was it(I thought). I had to get into their lane to hop the freeway and they stayed neck and neck with me, I`d slow down, they did the same while yelling I don`t know what. I had my turn signal on and finally tried to speed up and get in front of them(yeah, I know an 8 cyl vs 3)so they jumped it the lane next to theirs, yelled more crap and then threw someting at my car that hit the drivers door! The punks then made an illegal u turn and took off with their loud-mouthed girlfriends in the back...REAL classy, bet their folks are proud! Anyway, I hopped on the interstate headed home to DT Minneapolis...finally. When I got home and checked my litte guy out there wasn`t a scratch on him..thank God! I REALLY worry about people like that being "our future". The friends I had in highschool would NEVER act like that, it`s sad.OK venting over.

Yea, there is something new going on in our culture with parents giving kids all they never had and it ain't turning out good for the kids. Now I know we weren't all angels in the outfield but something is changing. Case in point: politeness is hard to find ANYWHERE.

Glad to hear neither you nor your smart suffered any permanent damage. 99% of the time the responses are positive. Too bad those boys think that girls are really impressed by punks.

Hey Dan-

I must commend you on your actions. Driving home was the best thing to do. To be honest, it would be very hard for me to do such a thing. I would have been tempted to follow them and call the cops on them. If they want to act tough in front of their lil friends, they can step out of the car and be a man about it instead of doing a 180 and run, which shows you what punks they really are. You don't throw things EVER at other drivers, even a piece of gum.

Chances are, if the cops catches these punks, they would be doing preventative maintenance for the public. I'm sure these clowns, if they don't do something stupid today, will do something stupid tomorrow. I hope they don't venture south to my hood.

Kudos to you for handling it in an adult manner.

We live in critical times hard to deal with for sure..as times go on these things will happen more and more. But sure glad to hear your smart didnt get hurt! its amazing how many stories I read that these cars are hard to scratch...go recycled plastic!

They're just kids. Stupid kids. Not raised properly, a victim of their environment, or whatever... but they're young and stupid. They'll bully you on the road and bully the small kid in school. The small kid has two choices to counter this: stand and fight or just keep walking.

In middle school, I walked, I ran, then I got cornered and fought back with full force. When faced with a physical fight, winning is the only way to gain respect. 3 vs 8 cylinders - you can't win the fight with brawn, so choose the other path.

Acknowledge their clear superiority. Complement their truck, their trophy girlfriends, how you obviously wish you had what they did. And let them go on their way, you go on yours and realize that you told them a big lie and they're too dumb to even notice it because all they cared was that you stroked their egos.
