Satellite antenna mounting

Has anyone mounted a Sirius or XM satellite antenna on the outside of your smart?

Where and how did you do it?

I had an the Alpine IVA W205 installed in my Smart... it has Sirius built in. When my guy did the installation, we quickly figured out that the plastic roof and a magnetic antenta did not work well together.

He used adhesive to mount the Sirius antena at the very rear of the panaroof; centered. It is positioned just forward of the rear window hatch.

He removed all interior plastic panels and ran the wire to front and down driver door windshield post into dash to radio.

This certainly was a custom job. The receiver/antena on the roof looks great and reception is perfect.

I have a Pioneer F900BT, and they hid antenna in the front compartment near the break fluid. Works Great!
