Plus a 1.3 reserve... but let's not go there again... it wasn't pretty last time. Long story short, shortly after the original thread I had the opportunity to do alittle experiment with a tank that had been pulled from a 2008. We took a garden hose and a gallon jug and put 10 gallons of water in it before it overflowed.

Manual says it's 8.72 which includes reserve of 1.32 and even on specs page on smartusa says it's 8.7. The 1.32 is part of the 8.72 gallons but I'm not looking to argue the issue as I'm going by what the manufacturer says.

Which is fine... interpret as you wish...

I'm telling you we poured 10 gallons of water into a tank.

I'll also tell you that on more than 5 occasions I have pumped over 9.5 gallons of gas into my car.

I don't argue logic... interpret as you wish.

You got me losing it now. The 8.72 + 1.32 = 10.04 gallons. I'm hearing you say you put 10 in the thing so that really is making me question smart. The gas gauge then is only tracking 8.72 gallons of gas?

You're putting too much into this... I was approximating the reserve amount... If you fillup as you said you have been when your LCD is showing .9 you'll be fine...

Though if I wanted to fan the fire I could tell you that neither the fuel guage or the speedo are accurate... I've driven over 50 miles after it went to 00 on the guage... and now that you have your scan guage have the MPH on the guage display... the speedo is slow by about 5mph... the SG is accurate.

That sounds wrong and I could easily make a joke about it instead I'll leave it up to the communities imagination to think of what kind of joke I would have used.

Ok then revised my settings (below are only things changed).

DISPLAY

Orange

ENGINE

1 liter

FUEL

a. TANK SIZE
10 gallons (8.72 gallons + 1.32 gallon reserve = 10.04) Wdhitch says he has filled it up and smart has to have their wording be ambiguous. I'm siding with this built in a 1.32 reserve so even when you gauge goes to empty you not out on the road broken down so can get to station (makes sense).

b. CUT OFF

16 (I had emailed ScanGauge manufacturer about cutoff and they told me to put in 2 above the TPS (without AC coast TPS is 14 with AC TPS is 16 on coast)

What do you guys think of these settings???
