HorsePower:

TXD=00, RXF=400080000000, RXD=0000
MTH=000A00170000, NAM=HP. Don't forget to SAVE.

Fuel remaining in tank

TXD=24, RXF=800000000000, RXD=0000
MTH=000000000000, NAM=FRT. Don't forget to SAVE.

Wdhitch I found the tank debate thread and boy is it a dosey.

The X-gauge feature is great and allows you to easily switch between displayed gauges. I am extremely interested in accessing the Smart-specific codes for things like interior temperature, A/C compressor data, oil pressure, and other troubleshooting items. To do that we need the codes like those shown here: http://www.scangauge.com/support/pdfs/XGAUGE.pdf

Does anyone have info on the Smart car codes?

ScanGauge II said my MPG for tank so far was 33.4 but when put in my mileage and gallons took to fill fuelly had a not so nice looking figure. I don't understand how if this thing is suppose to track how much fuel you have used verses how many miles you driven it can be so wrong.

Don't go by the SG's readout of your mileage. It's quite a bit off at times. I'm lucky if I'm within 10% of what it says, tank after tank. Sometimes it's right on target, but other times it's off by 5 mpg.

My experience mirrors Unicycle's; frequently the scangauge is wildly and erratically wrong (sometimes high, sometimes low, infrequently correct) when it comes to mileage estimates.

What's the point of the gauge if it's always wrong. I purchased it so I could get some real time information on my MPEG.

So far mine has been pretty accurate.Most of the time when there is a discrepancy (screw up) its because I got gas at a different pump or my wife got gas and didn't fill up the same way.

The instructions say your first Filipinos you should use same pump facing same direction but nothing about forever.

I found it good as a training aid if you want to see how to maximize your mileage. It does a good job of giving you feedback on current fuel consumption (and on the other stuff it monitors), it's just lousy (IMO) in giving absolute numbers on your actual mpg per tank. I went through all the resets, etc. that their tech support could suggest or offer an finally gave up on it for that use. Pen and paper (or Fuelly.com) for that now. It is good for the other monitoring functions and I have used it successfully to clear codes.
