I wasn't going to say anything and I'm sure I'll be reprimanded for doing so, but I'm REALLY disappointed at the kind of response, or lack of it in some cases, from the SCOA 'hierarchy'.

Second, and even MORE upsetting, was that I'm working with our local smart center (Indianapolis) to have a HUGE smart gathering at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the 'month of May' festivities. I had requested some assistance from SCOA as I felt this would be a great opportunity to inform smart owners not familiar with this site, about SCOA and to recruit some new members. I GOT NOTHING! NO REPLY....NOTHING!

So, after about 5 days of nothing, I PM'd him again and told him to 'nevermind', I guess there was no interest.

In the beginning, several smart centers were given a 'bad rap' for their "doc fees" and Indianapolis was one. Because of that, SCOA left a bad taste in their mouths and the 'brand manager' refused to come on the site. Now, with a new 'brand manager' in place, I've been trying to convice them to let the past be just that and to be more involved with SCOA. By 'blowing off' my request for assistance for this event has not helped the situation. There is no good to come of SCOA alienating itself from smart centers and is now in jeapordy of doing the same to some of it's biggest supporters.

It is my belief that IF SCOA is to continue to 'evolve', it must increase it's membership. I cannot for the life of me understand WHY this site would pass up such a great opportunity to promote itself, unless it is because I have spoken out in my defense and they hold a grudge. To cut off ones nose to spite your face is NOT a rational act and if this is going to be the future of SCOA, then I for one won't be around to particpate.

I'm sure I'll get the "Sorry, didn't get your 'PM' response" to this post. Then again, that might be asking too much. btw, I'm not mad....just Really disappointed in SCOA.

OK Panda, Here is my question. Who is SCOA?

Is their realy a hierarchy other than Moderators keeping us in line.

The only time I have ever felt an a** chewin' was from other members who have since been banned.

The main function of SCOA is to run a revenue producing web site.

The Admins interact very seldom directly with us peons.

As to dealer relations, all the criticism directed their way over excessive DOC fees was from individual posters (myself included} . Not SCOA or IB.

A Smart event at the Indi track would indeed be a winner. But unless you can enlist backing from Smart Inc it's self and your local club, you may be on your own. A2Jack

My comments were aimed, perhaps misguided though, at "SMART" and a moderator or two. "IF" SCOA is run to produce revenue, would you not want to INCEASE it's revenue by the INCREASE of it's membership? That's ll I'm saying.

Yes, I agree that that beatings on the 'doc fees' came from members, not SCOA or their moderators. But still the membership 'represents' SCOA and that is what I was trying to overcome....the perception that SCOA members are 'anti-smart center'.

Also, yes.....the local smart center and I have been working on this IMS project together and will be a "SIN" (smarties of Indiana) hosted function. Other parties either have been, or will be contacted asking for their participation. That's all I can say at this time, other than this will be an ENOURMOUS EVENT and I can't believe SCOA has no interest in being a part of it.

Not sure where you got this info but it's 100% false.

SCOA is enthusiast owned and operated. As to the responsibility of the site there are two of us who run, operate, and maintain the site. On top of that we have a small moderation team which keeps you all inline and I do my best to maintain vendors and a number of other services and oversee the community.
