Scratch Repairs

I have two very small gouges in my drivers door panel connected by a slight 2 inch scratch. Appear to be from a shopping cart or something. Any suggestions as to the best way to fix them, buff them out? Yellow panels color impregnated.

It's expensive, but I have read good things about
Quixx Quixx

Also saw some at Walmart, but can't remember the price.

Speaking from a position of "Ignorance of a subject", it appears to me the scratches that I have on my car are not in the color but in the clear-coat.

If I am correct, scratch removal is a completely different procedure with a different product.

I would like to hear from someone with knowledge on this subject.
