I can't believe I only found out this past week that there is a handy 'secret' shelf in the passenger-side leg area. It's incredibly handy for small things you want some access to, like the CD cases for my next two books-on-CD (courtesy of the library). You can store about a cubic foot of stuff there. Thanks to another SCoA'er for that idea -- I just put on my 20,000th mile and only found out about it now!

Are there any other 'secrets' in our cars?
Here is a secret I have shared about that storage spot several times. Be carefull what you store up there, if you turn on the heat you are going to melt those CD's and pay some big library fines. The heat vent is right there.

Wow! That's good to know! Thanks!

I don't think it's a problem if the items are fairly small (not TOO small) or flat -- the 'shelf' seems tilted back -- but as you see from above, be careful what you store there!
Yep, we've even had whole threads devoted to just this subject.
We store our fabric shopping bags up there and the wife's purse goes there when we take trips. Also, my worst enemy....Little Debbie....that's where I keep my secret stash.
