See what the Smart has started......

Just got the new issue of Popular Mechanics today and on page 40 there is a story on the Top Ten Auto X Prize Teams. I was sort of surprised not to see the electric Smart. Out of all of those I like the VentureOne. Have read about it for a couple of years now and if it's less than 20K I will buy one. Also after reading this article it makes you wonder why GM,Ford and Chrysler don't have something entered. I realize $10 million means nothing to them but you think the publicity alone would be worth it.

I've also been watching the VentureOne for awhile now! I have to admit that IF they came out with it for $25k or less, well...............anyone interested in a used blue/silver passion coupe?? I would BE there!! It truly looks that it would be an AMAZING vehicle!!

The target is to start selling the V1 in early 2010, in California. There will be a staged rollout to other areas of the country in subsequent years, based, in part, on the ability to provide retail and service infrastructure.

I hope they keep their "promise

The price that I heard is between $18K-$20K. They say it's like riding in a jet fighter. I worked on the F-106 Delta Dart and I would have given 6 months salary to take a ride in one of those. I'm thinking the VentureOne will do just fine.

The VentureOne has been on the cards for a long time but all they ever do is talk and appologise, I doubt we'll ever see it hit the road.
