Setting, changing the clock...

I thought I knew how to set the clock. The dealer showed me, I watched the video, I read the manual. I still can't do it.

I hold the right button forever. Sometimes the clock will flash. Usually it won't. Once I get a flash I try to set it. I might get it to move a few digits and then I suddenly get back to a non flashing clock. GRRRRR!

I'd like to think I am somewhat intelligent but this thing makes me look stupid.

Any help?

Thanks forestacademy, I did see that video. My Smart Center Advised me to watch all the video there. Unfortunately, I still do not have a clock set to the right time. I'll give it a try again. Maybe I'll get lucky.

Activating time setting: Press right
button 2 ( page 138) for approximately
five seconds.

The colon in the digital clock starts
flashing.
> Setting the time in 1 minute increments:
Press left button 1 or right button 2
(page 138) repeatedly until the desired
time is set.

> Setting the time quickly: Press left
button 1 or right button 2 (page 138)
for longer than one second.
The setting speed accelerates.

> Setting the time in 10 minute increments:
Press left button 1 or right button 2
( page 138) for longer than five seconds.
The time is set in 10 minute increments.
> Confirm time setting: Refrain from pressing
either left button 1 or right button 2
( page 138) for more than five seconds.
The colon in the digital clock stops flashing.
The time is set.

The digital clock in the multifunction
display is not synchronized with the cockpit
clock.

This has always worked for me.

I concur with the "real hard" need. Have you reset your trip odometer? If you can do that with ease, you can reset your time with ease. If resetting the trip odometer isn't easy, it'll take some force.

I helped show a friend how to reset his trip odometer and I was shocked how hard I had to push.

After reassembling my own instrument cluster (scouting out a clean way to do an LED install for the cruise control) I found it was much harder to press the buttons than before I took things apart. Setting the hour difference for daylight savings was a bear!

Thats never happen to me, on the trip odometer. I push it, and it starts to flash. Bingo reset. The clock is a pain in the ass.
