Should I wait for 2009 or buy the 2008?

The dealer just calkled me and offered me an orphan'd 2008. I thought I would have to wait six months to a year when I placed my deposit four weeks ago. I seriously would welcome advice about technical or performance advantages of waiting for a 2009 model. Thank you.

Smartville's media rep told me several weeks ago that, aside from some color changes, nothing should be fundamentally different. But the final decision is made by Daimler AG in Stuttgart! Who knows?

Well, I have heard (HEARD) that the 09 will offer different colors (a redder red, a dark gray, and bye bye no more yellow), and MAYBE PERHAPS cruise control, but aside from that, just a slightly higher price tag... (no doubt)

Its really a personal decision. Does it make more sense now, or later in your budget...

I bought an orphan and am so glad! I wouldn't necessarily wait. You can keep the reservation.... it will be a while anyway. You can always trade in this one and configure the one you reserved with all your desired options.

Does anyone have any idea on what pricing will be for the 2009? I have to think it's going to be more expensive.

Glad we got ours this year. The only thing that would be nice for a new model to have is cruise, but I'll wait until later this fall. I'm sure a lot of nice Smart accessories will be floating over the pond.
