Side Mirrors Scratching

any one else experience this? I was windexing today and noticed scratches on the side mirrors. Annoying. is there any way to get the scratches out? I dont think they will be visible while driving, but still annoying. Tips for no more scratches in the future?

P.S. Sand sucks

Anyone ever tried the tooth paste method? if would the whitening kind be too abrasive?

Where you using a microfiber cloth? The sand may have something to do with it...

I have seen plastic lenz restore kitts at advanced auto parts. Best way to prevent this is to use water first ( when washing the car) then polish with windex after.

I have scratched bathroom mirrors with regular towels so i do not know why I did not think of the water solution until now (after the fact). That is one bad thing about the beach. The humidity/sand takes over every night. I am afraid to get a cover though because of paint scratching

I haven't tried this on the mirrors, but it's a glass product which should remove any small scratches. Duragloss NuGlass

Would Lens CPR work with a mirror?

Perhaps LenseDR could be used?

Don't use this toilet paper to wipe off your mirrors.

Or any other 'delicate' items either.

Thanks for the ideas. I went to the auto parts stores and I did not see anything, but i may try the NuGlass. I'll try something and if it works i'll recommend it.

I have same problem and posted it a couple of weeks ago

Both my side mirrors have scratch-like swirls -- also looks like some are deep inside the glass as well. Dealer said they may have to be replaced -- glass is probably defective.
