Side Skirts

Hello Everyone, Well since fall has finally arrived here in Tampa Bay Florida this past weekend I decided to install "cats eyes" in Esmeralda. I had not taken any of the panels off before so I was a little apprehensive but with the help from FQ 101 I started the job. I only had to remove the back so I could access the taillight housings and well to make a long story short I hope I never have to deal with those side skirts under the doors again, getting them off was not too bad but the re-installing was a nightmare. There doesn't seem to any easy way or trick to do this, so if anyone has any comments or suggestions I would like to hear them so if in the future I ever have to remove them again, which I hope that day never comes I will have and easier time. Thanks. P.S. the cat's eyes are all installed a look and work great. Craig

Easiest way to get them back on - pull the square white clips off the pins and place them in their slots on the skirt, lined up with the front of each slot. Then place the little "hook" portion of the skirt in its slot and line the holes in the white pieces up with their pins. Work back toward the rear giving the skirt a firm whack with your hand to seat each clip on its pin. Finish up by reinstalling the two push pins at the rear.

Side skirts

Over here in Britain, if you have aftermarket side skirts, service centres charge you extra for a service, as they are so much of a pain to refit.
Makes you think, is it worth it, as they are only for aesthetic purposes, as they don't do anything other than look good, but that is the definition of art anyway.
Hark at me getting all philosophical in my old age, now where is my pipe and carpet slippers.........
