These are 5 seat cars with far more combined practicality. All are very good.
My Fit is rated at 50mpg highway. My old diesel Jetta would get near 60.
When I buy my diesel Smart I would like to get 70mpg.
Are you a hypermiler? Don't know what "Fit" you're talking about, but the one Honda is selling is rated at 38 MPG highway.

And it's not normally reaching THAT figure either from this report: Long-Term Road Tests - Bemoaning the 2007 Honda Fit's MPG

I live in Canada, our Imperial gallon is slightly larger.
The Fit is rated at 41.5 U.S miles per gallon highway or 50mpg Imperial gallons or 5.7 liters per 100km.

Those guys must drive like madmen.
I work with people who drive Smarts and Fits.
They both get the same milage in town but the Smart diesel is better on the highway.
One guy is a "hypermiler" and the hood of his Fit has the chips to prove it.
He got over 60mpg to Winnipeg and back. No way I would ever draft big trucks. Way to dangerous in these tiny cars.
