Smart Car for Dummies?

If we get enough tips and FAQ's and helpful information, we could create a 'Smart Fortwo for Dummies' book? It would be an oxymoron but a good idea?

What do you think? Inquiring minds want to know.

I am sure the "Dummies" group would be all over another book.

I think a shop manual would sell well. I don't think we are going to see one any time soon other than a subscription from the manufacturer.

Is this the blue man group?

I like the idea of the 'for dummies' approach because it brings together practical as well as technical elements.

There are real-world examples of on-line, community developed 'books' that seem to work. I'm an editor and, short of a busman's holiday, this is intriguing as a community project.

With the lack of written support manuals, maybe a small paperback on the smart 451 wouldn't be a bad idea!! Supposed to be only 10,000 in the US right now so trying to sell 100,000 copies would be out of the question!! I know I have thought about compiling all the good posts of members into a "What to do if Your smart breaks" binder!! Maybe an edition of the SCOA Magazine could have that as a running article?

If anyone is serious about writing a Dummies book on our cars, let me know - maybe I can help advise. I wrote one a few years back...

There are links to maintenance information through the Smart Club of Mexico (They've had Smarts for years) at smart club méxico - Powered by vBulletin
There is now a new Mexico Chapter here at SCOA and a few of the members in Mexico have visited. See the SCOA Home Page for an article on Smarts in Mexico; even a photo of a Smart Roadster.
