Smart Car Salvage Yard?

So I've been watching totaled Smarts sell at the insurance auctions and was wondering if anyone knew of a Salvage Yard with a Smart in it. I need a passenger side window from one.

Probably won't, I believe what's left goes back to its birthplace in France.

Reuse is better than recycle.

Shipping parts back to France to melt down is not as effective as letting us reuse the parts that break.

BTW, If anyone finds a yellow smart in a salvage yard with rear end damage let me know, I need some parts for the front.

I've been watching them sell and they go to different people around the country. I myself just picked up a vandalized smart (hence the need for a window).

I'm just curious if anyone has seen one in a yard because they have to go somewhere and a lot of the ones I've seen cannot be rebuilt.

There is one coming up. It's been T-Boned though and most of the front seems damaged on it as well. The hood being the exception...

Your car is supposed to return to France after its "lifecycle". How they make a smart and the whole lifecycle thing is in the brochure. (yes it's canadian but it still has the facts)

If they do end up in a junkyard, it's probably that someone didn't get the news or couldn't send it back (too destroyed).

I did a google search on "smart car junkyard" and I only found parts for a gray market 450.
I also did a search for "smart car salvage" with a little more luck I found some salvage sites but it doesn't seem as if any of them have any 08' or 09' parts or smarts.

Bottom line, send your smart back to France at the end of its "lifecycle" so someone else can enjoy it!

If your insurance company totals your car, and they auction it off for salvage, do you realy think the person paying at auction is just going to send it back to france for nothing. Nope, they are going to sell it for parts. Yes they should send back completly unusable parts to be recycled, but who is going to facilitate the shipping?
