My thoughts exactly. Magnate as is captain of industry? Shipping tycoon? This writer prefers the traditional "magnet" versus "magnate" for the intended reference

The car is indeed a chick magnet and it is a good way for engaging inquisitors in conversation.

I had an entire girl scout troop fighting over who got to sit in the passenger seat when I was buying some cookies at the market. Does that help?

I don't know if I would classify all of them as "babes", but many of the females I've spoken to seem to have traveled the world a bit (or at least claim to have) and claims to have seen the smart running about Europe.

IMHO the fortwo will absolutely be a babe magnet. If you've got the rest of the package to be dateworthy, the Smart will be a great ice breaker.

My impression: Women think the car is cute, but what kind of weirdo would buy one?

smart owner = weirdo???

Don't get it?

In this last month of ownership, I have had all ages of men, women and children gawking, smiling, giving me the thumbs up and peace signs about the smartie.

I think it's weird other drivers don't have one!

Just my 2 cents based on 1 month with a smart cabrio in Los Angeles.

I agree with you market research
Here in NJ supermarket cashiers don't like the smart but women with Good cars and style love it.
