Thank God I'm married and don't have to worry about such things. My "babe" rides in the passenger seat whenever she wants to so there :-P .

I've learned that the Prius is an "old people"'s car. Everytime I see one, it's a little old lady at the wheel. But we love ours and being able to wave at the gas stations as we pass by.

I asked a 22 year old USC graduate if she thought my car was a babe magnet. After she stopped laughing she said "no comment". She's the daughter of a good friend of mine.

I've had an entire girl scout troop want to sit in it,
I've had a 40ish mom, follow me into the blockbuster packing lot, to see it.
They all talk about how fun and/or cute it is.
I suspect their is an age gap in the babe range though, perhaps babies and baby-boomers though.

I think they fear I might be a cheapskate or enviro-nut, but when I tell them the smart replaces a 12-cyl Benz SL they don't seem to have any problems flirting. This with me wearing my wedding ring and telling them about my wife's smart. I think they take smart ownership as an indication that you are not only adventurous, but traveled and cultured too. Remember this is in a high rent area and at places like Trader Joes, Whole Foods, high end boutique shopping malls, etc. The response might be a bit different @ a NASCAR event or a country-western bar, but I don't live there. We have a Ferrari and Lamborghini dealer in town as well as Benz and Porsche, so it's not a typical community by any means. I will take one of our cabrios to Tucson this weekend, it will be interesting to see if there is any difference.

Are smarts babe magnets?

Well my smart is definately a chick magnet, but not necessarily a "babe" magnet. With, of course, the exception being my wife. We will be driving around and I still get all kinds of women (and men too) looking at the car. I have noticed that not all the women are babes, but hey, I am not the young studly buck I used to be either. I am still the only one around here (smart owner that is) and so he still garners much attention.

I have to agree with the previously posted "market research". Mine seems to attract the more classy, upper-class type of individual, with a least one buck-tooth goofy little grocery girl thinking "it's so ugly". However, after adding a car seat (for my 2 yr old, NOT me), it went from a "babe" magnet to a "baby" magnet!
