Smart Formore????

While looking for something else on the net I found a article from 2002 or so about how Smart was going to bring to the US a SUV called the Formore!! And that the Fortwo and Forfour most likely would not come to the US! WOW...I am glad that plan fell through! Not only can I not see a Smart SUV, that would have changed the whole 'Smart' idea!

In 2002 it made sense to build SUV's, even small ones, for the US market. Gas didn't cost anything.

Times they are'a'changin'

Perhaps if it was a Smart Version of the Subaru Justy it might still be )considered Smart? There seems to be a 2008 Subuaru Justy model.

Here's the actual car, it never made it to the Auto Shows and is now sitting in a Mercedes-Benz warehouse somewhere.

It was smart's first idea of a vehicle to the states but because of poor sales on forfours and roadsters, smart pulled the plug on the formore concept, roadster, and forfour.

I'd cut a deal with MB and buy one of the concept vehicles and/or the production respresentation vehicle next to it.

And they would say $500,000.

It didn't even have a chance to have its picture taken by the public.

...And the new Mercedes GLK is what the smart formore would have been. Literally. It's on a C-Class platform, as was the formore....it would have been a GLK in smart clothing. How uncool is that?

ForMore Concept

This is a concept of the ForMore.

The Formore SUV was based on the Smart ForFour platform and was to go on sale in the USA in 2006.

The Smart ForMore SUV project never materialized!Just more vaporware on the part of an automotive industry that promises a lot and gives what they want.

This is a short article about the SUV. Click Here
