The Smart ForMore SUV project never materialized!Just more vaporware on the part of an automotive industry that promises a lot and gives what they want.

This is a short article about the SUV. Click Here
Oh it materialized, they just didn't go any further with the idea. It was a bad year for smart.

I wonder if the two formore concepts in my below picture are actually working models and not the fake ones that GM likes to flaunt around with.

Click on the picture for a slideshow of the concept that never became...a concept...

The formore LOOKED like a forfour but I can assure you it was a C Class chassis underneath it. Just like the GLK.

It was confirmed somewhere in my sources or on SCOA somewhere that the formore was based on the forfour chassis and was just lifted and modified in several ways.

It could've made for an interesting smart utility vehicle (SUV), but much like Jeep's Compass, it would not have too much SUV use with those low profile tires.

Ahh, there are 2 in that picture. Rumor has it that the test vehicles (covered so people couldn't see it, like when the fortwo came to America covered up) were "recycled" so those might be the only two in the world.

Now who wants to barter with Mercedes-Benz and American laws on imports?

Well that information is incorrect; it was a W203 4MATIC platform underneath it.

Note the five bolt wheels to the M-B pattern, as opposed to the wheels/bolts on the non-functional show cars.

Go Mike T!

I love working models. *drools*

And besides, in contrary to what I said about the forfour chassis, I forgot that it would have to share the same Tridion Cell so you ARE RIGHT!

I just cringed at those poor test formores all crushed up like that.

I hope MB doesn't do that to the two formores in that warehouse.
