Smart Fortwo Lost key programming

I have a friend who lost his keys to a 2008 Passion. The dealer wants over $1000 to remedy this. I was wondering if anyone in this community has experience with this company? They say they can add keys back in if I lose them all. I just need to send a module from the car.

Thank you for your feedback.
Perhaps the high cost is due to the module modification? It seems rather high in price.

What is this company wanting to fix it? The $1000 dealer cost is actually lower than what we've heard previous... Dealers usually quote around $1500 to replace the SAM and lost keys.

They are going to program new keys to the original SAM and it will be less than half of the dealers quote to replace the parts. They are close to me so I will probably go with them. Just feeling it out first. Thanks

Not spending $850 extra to get the same thing in the end just because they are a dealer. Is that desperate or smart? I guess we will find out.

I vote for smart! And if this place can't do it for some bizarre reason, I'm sure they wouldn't charge you. It would have been nice if someone had previous experience with them, but they look legit to me, for whatever that's worth.

Let us all know if this works out. If it does, you will save future folks a chunk of change. Its amazing how often folks suddenly lose or damage both keys and fobs

I payed $250.00 from dealer for that program for 5 years. And from what the dealer said "It is impossible to reprogram a keyless smart"....thus the high price to fix.

I find that hard to believe, since a NEW SAM is essentially a "keyless smart" and CAN be programmed for $1k+

Just sayin'
