SMART help please

Hi everyone,
I am doing a project car for an event. I have not had anything to do with a SMART car before so am looking for advice on power out put and other mods. Is there a recomended site or maybe someone on here who's brain i can pick from time to time.
What kind of horse power does a worked SMART car engine deliver? I will not be restricted by emission output and such. Is there someone in the U.S doing a lot of mod work already?
Thanks for the help.

Great, thanks. I have access to Suzuki engines and other assorted bits, but for what we need the car for, we are unsure we want to drop huge time and dollars into it right away as we need to prototype something to see if the concept is even viable.
In short i need the biggest horsepower gain i can get with the least time and money. Just what everyone wants right! LOL
I am not restricted by noise or EPA emissions though. Thanks for the link!

Don't know that big hp. gains and limited time and money can be used together in the same sentence, but since this is some kind of project car.
I would go out and purchase the largest nitrous kit you could find and strap that puppy on!! Just think of all the fun you'll have looking for the rest of the car!!!

Barney O.... Tmack couldn't help myself!

Ha! Spot on prediction!
Suggest you search for the babybenz nitrous oxide threads before you go strapping anything on just yet.

And BarnyO, have I got a *mod* to equal your DIY intake hose. More next week on my patented aerodynamic "improvement".

Like a kid at Xmas, BarnyO?

Look, I meant to put the parens around the "patented" part, in addition to the "improvement". This from my post a couple of weeks ago:

Question, please. While working on my 2009 Passion, I removed the decorative black plastic modesty panel (for want of a better term) to better access the engine.
It dawned on me: this is an aerodynamic drag that serves no function, other than looks.

I've been scratching my head all this time, trying to come up with a cheap, effective yet stylish way to eliminate this miniscule drag, ala' BarnyO's DIY air intake hose, and may have come upon a BarnyO-like solution.

But I have to wait for the weekend; it's raining, I'm working late and I have no garage.
