Smart Madness KROQ Article.

Lightning FINALLY posted his video from the Smarts & Coffee event a few weeks back. Check out his article and video here. Great little write up. Just wish he would have shown more of the traffic circle.

Very cool, that was a fun day I can't wait for the next PCH run/coffee and smarts.

I think we can do a whole segment on the traffic circle. Next time we'll call it "Traffic circle and smarts". I don't know if anyone eles noticed the lady in the silver F-150 tryin to get into the circle, eveytime I drove passed her (about 10 times)she looked mad (or in shock of the sight of 50+ plus smarts) every time I passed her

It's not as bad as some people will make it sound, You just had to be there

That article could sell cars, It's just what smart needs, good feedback on a great car....

Other than getting the rest of the world pissed off at the sight of a smart, what exactly is the purpose of jamming up the traffic circles?

I can see the drives and the expositions of these little vehicles, but actively working at getting others teed off seems (to me, at least) counter-productive. Active proponents of the car should be working for positive notice, not something that would fall into the general pattern of "I saw a bunch of a-holes at the El Secundo traffic circle this afternoon - it took me five minutes to jam into the pack of those stupid little cars they drive..." and so forth

Elsewhere on this website are discussions of how irritating are the antics of other drivers who cut in front of our little cars, or who seem compelled to circle around us on the highway while they run their eyeballs over our vehicles. Doesn't this "traffic circle jamming" behavior fall into the same general pattern?

Maybe it's a California thing...

Hi Terry,

If you do not mind I would like to clarify an earlier post.

h20m0fo was referring to one lady which he guesses was getting a bit mad. Whether she was mad or not we will never know. What I can tell you from the past couple of times we did this the majority of cars stop and wait for us to all get on the traffic circle. Most honk, smile and waive in a friendly gesture.

Getting 30-60 cars on the traffic circle ends up being a scene, the majority loved it before and many asked if we can do it again.

We are on it for a couple of minutes and then we get off. Most just stop and look with amazement, smile and take pics with their phones.

I'd have to say there were plenty of people smiling that day. Not just all of us in our smarts.

That was a cool piece by Lightning of KROQ radio. For a flatbiller that loves skyjacked trucks with big V8s and hipo Eurocars, he sounded pretty impressed.

All of our roundabouts are dinky and unimpressive....
Hooray for more positive exposure on the smart!
