Smart Premium Sound System

For those Smart's who have the premium sound system with the 5 speakers. I want to know how good is the sound. I'm a big fan of good quality sound in a car but I don't go over the top with bass.

So...
Is the bass good?
Is the sound clear listening to Hip-Hop or Classical loud over radio?
How's the CD output quality?
When the music is loud, does it sound distorted over any of the 3 output mediums (CD, radio, MP3)

i was wondering the same thing. im about to order my smart and was wondering if the upgrade was worth the money.

I got the radio 9 in my smart and was disapointed in the sound. Wished I had radio 10. Now my wife got a smart with radio 10. It sounds a little better but not much. I am going to try better speakers in both smarts.

I have a Radio 10 with the premium speakers (not all Radio 10s have the extra speaker pack). Mine sounds great. Its not a ghetto blaster tumper, but sounds good on both AM and FM, CDs and my MP3 player sound good and I like the way the Radio 10 plays MP3 encoded CDs for hundreds of tunes per disk.

I got Radio 10 on my Passion Coupe and I will give it a 8 out of 10 for stock audio system. To me the Harman Kardon Logic 7 in my E Class is the 10 out of 10.......

Like taste and vision, all senses are somewhat subjective. I.e., how many audiophiles are actually listening music without some equalization? If only to match their location (room, car, large hall...) and their perception of their favorite music. That said, one's ideal audio system may not please everybody. I may be happy with smart's "sound system", I may not. I'll test it for a while before planning any modification. Don't forget that a non-MOE radio may be of no extra value at resale time...

I have the premium audio, and I'll admit, coming from a Bose system in my Maxima before this car, I thought it sounded pretty bad at first. However, now that I've been listening to it for a week and a half, it sounds pretty good! I'm happy with it for a factory (upgraded) system.

It's just like standing at Best Buy looking at TV's... the one you can afford never looks as good as the one you really want... until you get it home and have nothing else to compare it to, then it's phenomenal! )

I have the upgraded system, and there is a box under the driver's seat that I take to be a subwoofer, but where are the tweeters located?
