Smart Slider - iPhone App

Those of you that jailbreak your iphones... do a search for the smart car slider app. Beeps when you slide it!

Yellow Smart - Unlock slider.
Green Smart - When you get a phone call.
Red Smart - when you power down.

How do you jailbreak a iPod Touch?

Better yet, what is jailbreaking?

And could you help me...jailbreak?

You could send me a PM if it gets too illegal

That would be awesome, but I'm too much of a scaredy cat to void my warranty on my iPhone to risk it.

That looks pretty cool, but why would an app such as this require you to jailbreak the phone? I don't get it...

Agreed, I won't jailbreak my phone for any reason. I guess I'll just have to settle for the wallpaper picture of my car.

I didn't jailbreak the phone to get this app specifically, but after i jailbroke the phone i found it there app store (free)... not sure if apple app store has anything like this.

Yes! jailbreaking the phone does void the warranty.. you have to weigh your personal felling about that. i personally am glad i did mine... But keep in mind im a bit more nerdy than most.

I downloaded one app that lets me record videos on the g2... even tho it doesn't have a video camera on it. Thats kind of neat.

I am able to download and change text/mail tones.

I downloaded a volume booster

I plan to explore it allot more over the weekend, but it has more than 7000 third party apps that apple doesn't want you to have.

How to Jailbreak Your iPhone Using BlackRain:

Step 1: Update iTunes to the latest version available and reboot your computer.
Step 2: Download BlackRa1n blackweather and install it, then reboot your PC (note that rebooting is not necessary but I always do this as a precaution).
Step 3: Plug your iPhone to your computer and launch BlackRa1n. Click on “make it ra1n”.

I send you a video on how to do it step by step... No! Its not illegal! It just voids the warranty. now! You can do things with a jailbroke phone that is illegal... Like download movies that are still in the movie theater. but i would never do anything like that.

Heres the video

They don't call in jail breaking because they think it's legal...

That may not be technically true, since Apple expressly forbids doing this in the EULA. Apple just won their case against a group installing Leopard on hackintosh system based on this legal theory (which I still think is partially bogus and could overturned still). So, call a spade a spade. It's against the EULA, technically making it illegal to do, appeal pending. Not to mention that any future updates to the firmware may brick your phone and/or contain code that will report your jail breaking back to Apple. They've done that to the netbook hackintosh market for OS X just this past week. Put mildly, Apple doesn't like you doing things with their designs that they didn't intend to let you do. (Which is the main reason I will never own an iAnything.)

Personally, I'd go for something more open, like a Nokia N900 or a Motorola A1600 if you want a hackable phone. My N900 should be arriving any day now.

All that said, if you don't plan on updating the software ever again, and don't use iTunes to sync your music/data, and really like hacking your phone, go nuts. You probably don't drive under 65 on the highway all the time either, so why change now?
