SMART Stole the show in a MINI meet

I went to the MINI club's monthly meeting today with my smart and it pretty much stole the show. The MINI club was showing off the new MINI Clubman from the dealership but the smart had just about as many looks as the Clubman. It was pretty cool to see a smart parked next to a mini (original), along with the MINIs and the Clubman.

i was too busy answering all the questions about the smart so i didn't get a chance to take pictures. I'm sure someone from the mini club did. Once i find some i'll post.

So the Clubman has officially hit the states! What did you think of it in person?

I saw the Clubman at the Washington Auto Show back in January and spent time sitting in all the seats. Compared to the old-style "new" MINI the back seat is huge, as in big enough that you don't need to push the seats way forward if you want to carry a couple of passengers. I still think it better only be for a short ride because it's far from limousine-roomy for adults. I guess there is about half-again as much cargo space behind the rear seat. The rear doors are cool, but you need to get used to seeing the bar in the rear view mirror. If I really needed more room and wanted a MINI I'd consider getting one. But the added space is wasted on me since I happy with my '04 model.
